You Can’t Leave Home Without It(Apologies to AMEX)

Where I live, they started implementing the use of COVID-19 vaccination cards which would ensure entry into places that provide non-essential services. Call it whatever—vaccination passports, apps for proof of vaccination records as the case may be, etc. I even heard stories of people on online dating sites stating that they are COVID-19 free. Even applying for a new job or even keeping a current one would require proof of vaccination pending any medical exemptions.

It s now, I guess the new normal until COVID-19 is fully eradicated. What a lifestyle change, indeed!

One practically has to bring it every time just in case someone at the door(aka “Vac ID bouncer”) wants to see it. It makes one feel as a teenager or baby-faced adult being carded at the pub entrance. I heard stores of probably unvaccinated folks being rude to the staffer screening them.

There is no need for rudeness, guys. The staffer is just doing his job. Nothing personal about that. What you can all do is get a doctor’s certificate stating why you cannot get the COVID-19 vaccine. Problem solved!

My local Staples store ,I heard had been having a heavy lineup lately because a lot of the local folks have been having their COVID-19 vaccination cards be laminated.

You really cannot leave home without that card, my apologies to American Express!

  1. i wasn’t allowed entry to a resto without my vax card. yup, better believe it!

  2. Here in Saskatchewan the only wierd thing is that you need to have proof of vaccine to go to the liqour board (if it is a stand alone store) or cannabis shop. Any other retail place is fine. Apparently chocolate in a necessity, wine and CBD cream not so much. Doesn’t matter to me, I am fully vaccinated and have the certificate downloaded on my phone.

  3. Got mine laminated but nobody wants to see it, not even the hospital (which seems nuts). πŸ™„

    • Just have it with you when you go out. Better safe than sorry.

  4. Same here in our place. The vaccination card is the thing here. ☺️

Hardly anyone in America cares anymore. There are still some signs posted that suggest people wear masks but those are largely ignored. The only place I’ve seen lately that required it for sure was my doctor’s office.

    • Some will indeed ignore it but it is upon them to take care of themselves. What they are doing is because of business profit reasons. Just focus on yourself, stay safe and show your vac card. Thanks for your feedback.

Exactly, now that we have a vaccine in place it’s up to people to take care of themselves and keep safe.

    Great information in your post

    • Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed reading my post.

  8. We don’t have vaccination cards in Nigeria here

    • Hopefully your govt will issue those because you all need a sense of freedom in the new normal.

      • I really hope too. Nigeria needs to step away from such huge problems.

I would love to communicate with you via email or instagram. Maybe collaborate on a post or two? I hope that would be okay

      • That would be fine. My email is listed in wordpress.

merry xmas Josie, hope you have a great one

  10. Things may have changed since you originally posted this…and I fear for the worse not better. I believe I heard that Canada is not allowing the unvaxed into grocery stores? Truly, all of these mandates are crimes against humanity, including the unfounded divisiveness and fear mongering. If people don’t get up the backbone to say, “NO,” then this is the life they will be enslaved to. Period.

    • What you are sayng could have happened in some parts of Canada that are heavily infested. In my province, we are not required to show vaccine cards when going to groceries. This means that even the unvaxxed can go in. Health authorities here in my place say that the contact time in the grocery s very short. I already have 2 shots plus booster and still wear a mask as required in entering the grocery . No mask, no service. I also undergo rapid testing during work.

      • So sorry this is how “life” is in Canada now.

      • I know. It is a complicated new reality .

      • Yes, and unnecessarily, tragically so.

      • Amen to that. Am praying for normalcy to return though I believe it will be a permanently modified one.

      • Yes, I don’t think we will ever return to “normalcy” as we have known it.
